As we approach the end of the year, it's natural to reflect on what has passed, embrace the present, and look forward with hope to what lies ahead. This is a perfect opportunity to ground our thoughts in the teachings of Jesus and the timeless wisdom of Scripture. At Info About Jesus, our goal is to help you grow in understanding and living out your faith in Him. Let's take this journey together.
Learning from the Past Year
Looking back at the past year, we often find moments of joy, challenges, and opportunities to grow. The Bible reminds us to see every experience as a way to draw closer to God. Jesus says:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28, NIV)Reflecting on the year, we can bring our burdens to Jesus, trusting that He will give us the rest and renewal we need. Even in moments of struggle or failure, God is at work, shaping us for His purposes.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28, NIV)Living in the Present
Jesus teaches us about the importance of living in the present and trusting God for our daily needs. He said:
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34, NIV)Each day is a gift from God - a chance to serve, love, and grow closer to Him.
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24, NIV)Looking Forward to the Next Year
As we step into a new year, it's an opportunity to align our hearts with God's will. Jesus gave us a powerful example of prayer and submission when He said:
"Yet not my will, but yours be done." (Luke 22:42, NIV)We can move into the new year with confidence, knowing that God has a plan for our lives.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)Let's prioritize seeking God's kingdom above all else:
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33, NIV)Spend time in prayer and Scripture as you make plans, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you in following Jesus more closely in the year ahead.
