Self-pity can strike at any moment in our minds. Especially, when we face trials in our life. It is easy for our minds to slip into feeling sorry for ourselves when we should not. Obviously, there are times when it is ok and expected for us to be sad about things in life - like when we lose a loved one. But, sometimes when little drama in our life creeps in, say petty work drama, we can quickly fall into the "self-pity pit" in our heads. Which isn't the most positive feeling :(. Instead, try to focus on all that you have to be thankful for. You can also use the verses below for a pick me up:

15 Happy are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your countenance; Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.Do not fret because of the wicked; do not be envious of wrongdoers, 2 for they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security.
